The Sachlav "Community in the South" initiative is a volunteer-driven project aimed at supporting the south district of Israel including the region of the Gaza envelope – kibbutzim, cities, and communities that have suffered for years from relentless missile attacks. On October 7th, these communities were hit harder than ever before, enduring a brutal attack that resulted in significant loss of life, the destruction of homes, and deep emotional scars. The entire region now stands at a critical point, not only needing to rebuild its physical infrastructure but also its spirit and resilience.
Sachlav’s mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where volunteers from around the world can come together to help these communities rebuild in the aftermath of this tragic event. The initiative involves rebuilding homes, enhancing community spaces, and offering humanitarian aid to those affected. Volunteers can engage in a wide range of activities such as agricultural work, environmental conservation, and cultural exchange. These efforts help strengthen the local economy, preserve the environment, and foster mutual understanding between volunteers and the residents of Sderot and the surrounding areas.
The project aims to establish a sense of empowerment, cooperation, and connection between local communities and the global diaspora jewry. Volunteers will live in community spaces, participate in daily activities, and contribute to various projects that enhance the quality of life in the region. Sachlav offers comprehensive insurance and personal customer service to ensure the safety and satisfaction of every participant.
With Sachlav’s support and your involvement, the Community in the South can thrive, becoming a pillar of strength for the districtand its surrounding towns, kibbutzim, and moshavim.
