Do you believe that nature knows no borders? Do you have a passion for sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, water management, or desert ecology? The Arava Institute’s Israel internship program is home to five transboundary research and development centers, each addressing areas of environmental concern. In collaboration with young Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and other international researchers, participants will explore topics like water management, energy conservation, sustainable agriculture, water management, ecology, and environmental diplomacy. Join the Arava Institute’s researchers for one or two semesters working under the mentorship of a faculty member. The internship fosters rich learning experiences in environmental research and development, environmental policy, and project management. Interns will leave the program with solid professional contacts and will be well-positioned to build community-based partnerships. Interns are part of the general campus community, and participate in a rich program which includes community building activities and social events, as well as regional trips, desert hikes, gardening, camping, horseback riding, and more. Kibbutz Ketura is located near Eilat and approximately 4 hours from the center of country, which is easily accessible by public transportation.

Barely 20 minutes away from Tel Aviv, Herzliya is known as the more exclusive, calm, and upscale neighbor city. Famous for its beaches and boardwalk bars and restaurants, Herzliya satisfies people’s outdoor mentality year round. With no wave breakers (like those in Tel Aviv), the city’s beaches are a surfer’s dream come true, with locations offering lessons to those who want to learn surfing or a variety of other water sports.
Apollonia Beach offers a different kind of experience – resting below Apollonia National Park, the beach is bordered by a cliff and is home to the archaeological remains of what was once a crusader city, including a fortress built in the thirteenth century. The climb up gives visitors the opportunity to see a beautiful panoramic view of Herzliya’s coast. Bars along the water are abundant, as well as nightlife and restaurants further into the city.
IDC College, built on a former air force military base, welcomes both Israeli and international students and is a haven of trees, gardens, and environmentally friendly buildings. Students are never bored in this city, with the Seven Stars Mall less than 10 minutes away and filled with stores, restaurants, a movie theater, a fitness gym, and regular festivals and food fairs throughout the year. For some extra culture, Herzliya’s Museum of Contemporary Art features traditional and modern art and is well worth a visit.

Do you have a passion for sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, water management, or desert ecology?   The Arava Fall/Spring semester offers a unique inter-disciplinary study abroad program designed to educate future environmental leaders to solve the common challenges facing the world through cooperation and cross-cultural communication. Live and study with Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and other international students on Kibbutz Ketura in the Southern Arava Valley, as you work together on transboundary environmental issues.   Students participate in a rich program which includes community building activities and social events, as well as regional trips, desert hikes, gardening, camping, horseback riding, and more. Kibbutz Ketura is located near Eilat and approximately 4 hours from the center of country, which is easily accessible by public transportation.  

Taught entirely in English by world renowned Technion faculty, the B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering program is a four-year degree. Mechanical Engineering provides the foundational engineering infrastructure for all modern industry. A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for constructing creative solutions using scientific and technological innovations. From developing designs to building machines, Mechanical Engineers are essential to contributing to the advancement of humanity and as well as its welfare. Program appears on grant application as: Technion – BSc in Mechanical Engineering  Option of Transferring to Regular Technion Programs (in Hebrew) Students who have successfully completed the first year (Freshman Year) of the program have the option of transferring into a regular undergraduate study track in Hebrew offered by other engineering and science faculties at the university, provided their Hebrew language skills are sufficient according to Technion policies. Internal Faculty Transfer Students enrolled in a Technion International program who would like to transfer to another Technion faculty are responsible for inquiring with the faculty in question about its transfer requirements. The faculty will consider transfer requests based on the following three criteria:• Academic Preparation program average• Grade point average of academic courses taken in the first year of the program• Hebrew placement examination score at the end of the first year*Students can also apply to transfer their Technion credits to a university of their choice

The Masa B.A. academic programs at Ariel University are offered in the following fields:

The International Medical Sciences Program (Pre-Med, BSc in English)

The Masa program includes first-semester courses from the full three-year undergraduate program: General and Analytical Chemistry; General Physics; Mathematics; Introduction to computational sciences; Introduction to Sociology; Introduction to Psychology.

The full program of study consists of a unique curriculum that spans three years, with a focus on a blend of STEM courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), biological sciences, and social sciences.

BSc in Physics (in English)

The Masa program includes first-semester courses from the two-year Master's degree studies + intensive Hebrew courses (500 hours of study in Ulpan).

Academic courses include: Physics (Mechanics); Linear Algebra; Mathematical Physics; Physics Laboratory

Included in both programs:

·        Lectures and seminars on the history and culture of Israel

·        Excursions in Israel and student activities

·        Accommodation in a student dormitory on the campus of Ariel University

At the end of each program, participants have the opportunity to continue their studies by taking into account the academic courses they have already completed.

Ariel is known as an ancient city with biblical and spiritual roots. As the capital of Samaria, Ariel is home to the 3,000 year old ruins of an ancient Jewish city, stalactite caves, Eshel Hashomron Hotel – the only hotel in Samaria, and the famous tombs of biblical figures. Aside from its rich history, Ariel is a university city known for its diversity: Jews, Arabs, secular, observant, recent immigrants, and born-and-raised Israelis.
