Torah Tech is a unique gap-year program in Israel for young men that integrates intensive Torah study with professional development through business internships in Israel. Our multi-faceted program challenges students to strive for excellence both religiously and professionally, by immersing them in the world of Torah and ruchniyut, as well as the world of highpowered Israeli businesses and tech companies.

The best program designed to train Madrichim to lead their communities

​The Shnat 8-month program is designed for Maccabi educators/ Madrichim/ young leaders, ages 18-19. You will have the opportunity to build and develop leadership skills through the Machon Le Madrichim seminars, joining the IDF Marvah, training and assisting with the Magen David Adom emergency service, living and working on a kibbutz, touring all over Israel, and learning about the Shoah while traveling to Poland for a week to take what you learned firsthand. It’s an excellent opportunity to have a memorable and unforgettable year with friends and Maccabi. The program also offers you to live in the main cities of Israel, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, and discover the country through organized trips. 

The dates of the program are split into two segments to accommodate various countries:

North – Maccabi Gap Year (September-June): Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, United States, Spain, and others. 

South (March-November): Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brasil, Panamá.

Midreshet Torah V’Avodah offers highly motivated young adults a year experience that is broad, enriching, and intense. Months of Bet Midrash learning are complemented by avodah (service), tiyulim, internships, and more.

The Israel Experience at Bar Ilan University offers high school graduates a variety of courses taught in English that reflect a typical freshman courseload found at North American universities. Students are encouraged to supplement their academic courses with internship and volunteer placements at a variety of major American or Israeli companies. In addition, educational and exciting trips and Shabbatonim are offered every other week. Bar-Ilan University is chartered and accredited by the Ministry of Education in Israel, and the overwhelming majority of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada recognize its courses. In most cases, Israel Experience students will be able to receive credit for their studies.

Known as the greenest city in Israel, Ramat Gan is a hidden oasis outside the rush of Tel Aviv. Among being home to Bar-Ilan University and Tel Hashomer, Israel’s largest hospital, Ramat Gan also hosts a National Park, Safari,the diamond district and the Stock Exchange.

Yachad Gap Year is the ultimate Israel immersion experience, offering you the opportunity to learn, volunteer and explore Israel in Israeli Mechina programs with Israeli peers.   For more than 20 years, these prestigious programs have been offering amazing experiences for Israeli high school grads, and now you can join them!  And there's a Mechina program for every taste—non-religious, Reform, Orthodox and mixed; and any place in Israel you like.

Learning: Each Mechina program has a talented and highly-trained teaching staff that will conduct discussion-based classes on Israeli society, Zionist history, Jewish studies, Jewish identity, philosophy and more.

Volunteering: You'll be active in the community where you live, by working in public schools and after school programs, visiting with elderly populations and contributing to the community through special projects.

Exploring Israel: Throughout the year you'll have seminars for several days to explore different parts of Israel. And some Mechina programs hike the "Israel Trail," which spans all of Israel from the southern tip of Eilat, all the way to the most northern point of the Galilee.

Life in the Group: You'll be part of a self-governing community in the Mechina program that makes all the major decisions governing life in the group.  You'll serve on committees that determine everything from how to divide up the group food budget, to planning trips and seminars, to inviting guest speakers and performers for cultural evenings.

Yachad is the ultimate Israel immersion experience, because you're in totally Israeli programs with Israelis your own age the whole time!  You and your Israeli peers govern every aspect of life, from dividing up the group food budget, to planning seminars and trips.  And you can choose between a broad variety of programs, for every level of observance, and in every part of Israel!

On Limmud you'll spend significant time at Yeshiva or Midrasha, Machon LeManhigut and Mechina, and will help you combine more Torah learning with the legendary Bnei Akiva experiences of Israel, including Kibbutz, Marva and Magen David Adom. Limmud is all about learning and giving. It’s a year for yourself, but also a chance to contribute to society around you. For participants from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa

Shnat Betar is a challenging leadership program in Israel. The program is dedicated to creating and inspiring the Zionist-Betar leaders of tomorrow. Shnat Betar provides a unique opportunity to explore new directions on the journey to becoming a Jewish-Zionist adult. From February to December, Shnat participants are immersed in the rich and diverse society of Israel, exploring the land and discovering new aspects of themselves and Israel. The program includes four months of the "Machon L'Madrichim" course, an unforgettable experience with the army in "Marva" course, movement seminars around Israel and a meaningful volunteering period. A true year of exploration, Shnat Betar provides the freedom for personal discovery as well as the security of a carefully structured program. This unforgettable experience is created through an intricate balance between studies and volunteer work, learning and teaching, personal challenge and community living. Participants on Shnat Betar return from the year with a stronger attachment to the land of Israel as well as a deeper passion for Zionism and for the Betar movement, enthusiastic to share with their communities what they have learned.
