Known as the greenest city in Israel, Ramat Gan is a hidden oasis outside the rush of Tel Aviv. Among being home to Bar-Ilan University and Tel Hashomer, Israel’s largest hospital, Ramat Gan also hosts a National Park, Safari,the diamond district and the Stock Exchange.
A program that provides a supportive, educational, social and bureaucratic envelope for single soldiers who are new immigrants, by building a core and providing close support starting from the preparation phase, absorption in Israel and their recruitment into the army. With its city name meaning “fresh” in Hebrew, Raanana provides its residents with exactly that feeling. Designated a “Green City” by the World Health Organization in 2005, Raanana is one of four cities in Israel to have joined the international organization ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability (the other three being Jerusalem, Kfar Saba, and Shoham). In a city like this, there’s enough green space to go around, offering plenty of walking space, trees, sports fields, and more to keep the outdoor mentality alive.
