MITF Israel Outdoors NEXT Cities

Jerusalem

The city where past and present meet. Established over 3,000 years ago, the city of Jerusalem offers you the chance to literally reach out and touch the past. Known as the city of gold, Jerusalem is a magical mix of ancient and modern, where outdoor shuks (markets) rub shoulders with gleaming office towers. The city's most popular spots include a vibrant downtown with world-class restaurants and shopping, and the Old City, a maze of winding alleyways and colorful markets enclosed by walls dating back to the 16th century.

Akko

Akko is a gorgeous port city that is drenched in history, adventure and beauty. The white buildings and colorful rooftops are reminiscent of Greece, with some of the most incredible food destinations in Israel. The old city of Akko, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built upon the remains of a Crusader town.
The old city is home to a beautiful outdoor market (shuk) that holds tasting tours, warm cafes to sit at, and the most incredible restaurants. With a local train stop, Akko is a vibrant coastal town that will leave you feeling connected to its rich past and excited to be a part of its flourishing future

Mitzpe Ramon

Theres something magical about slipping away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities to a quieter, more peaceful environment. With its gargantuan erosion crater offering kilometer upon kilometer of arid land just waiting to be explored at the wake of dawn, to the crystal clear night skies free from urban pollution at dusk, Mitzpe Ramon offers just the nature-infused cure to relax, reflect, and recharge before returning to city life.

Beer Sheva

Beer Sheva is known as the capital of the Negev Desert. Located at the northern tip of the Negev Desert, Beer Sheva is also one of Israels fastest growing cities. Home to Ben Gurion University, Beer Sheva has a large student population and a vibrant culture for young adults. The student community is very social and offers many opportunities for Masa Fellows to take part in student initiatives and activities. As a result, the area around the university has a college town feel, filled with entertaining nightlife.

Netanya

Located only 30 minutes north of Tel Aviv, Netanya serves as a vital social and economic link between the northern and southern parts of Israel. Netanya is home to many start-ups and hi-tech companies. Immigrants make up 35% of the population, mostly coming from France and Ethiopia.
With its seemingly never-ending promenades, Netanya's nine miles of white sand beaches, wild cliffs, and green parks rank among the most beautiful in the world.

Haifa

Haifa is Israels third largest city and one of its most beautiful and multicultural. Haifa has gorgeous beaches, scenic views from Mount Carmel, and forests perfect for hiking. It is the home of the magnificent Bahai Gardens and Temple, theaters, concert halls, restaurants, and museums. The people of Haifa are from diverse religions, cultures, and ethnicities. Jews and Arabs live side by side, and sites of religious worship of the main religions can be found there.
