Who?
The Atlanta Israel Gap Year Scholarship is open to current (2020-2021) Atlanta high school seniors who identify as Jewish, regardles of financial need.
What?
Up to 30 selected Atlanta high school seniors will receive a $10,000 – $15,000 stipend toward a gap year experience in Israel for the 2021-2022 school year.
JumpSpark will award a limited number of additional $5,000 stipends for gap year scholarship recipients who commit to volunteering or working 50 or more hours in the Jewish community during the summer following their gap year (May-August 2022). Volunteer work may take place in Israel or the U.S. and may include work at a summer camp, an internship at a Jewish organization, working on a Kibbutz, and more.
Students and their families are responsible for covering program costs in excess of the $10,000 scholarship. The additional cost ranges from $10,000-$15,000 depending on the program selected.
When?
The Atlanta Israel Gap Year Scholarship applies to the 2021-2022 school year and the following summer of 2022 (optional).
Key application dates are as follows:
- February 8, 2021: Application period opens
- March 31, 2021: Application period closes
- April 15, 2021: JumpSpark announces winners and awards scholarships
- April 15-30, 2021: Selected teens commit to programs

Where?
Israel! Students who are awarded stipends will choose from one of several pre-approved Israel gap year experiences. Students who receive the additional $5,000 stipend may volunteer with Jewish organizations in Israel or the U.S. following the gap year program.
