Originally from Amsterdam, today lives in Tel-Aviv. At the age of 18, Gideon came on a Masa career program. Gideon was the youngest in the program that was designed for people who want to learn programming. After the program ended Gideon enlisted in the IDF Navy and served in the Dabur unit.

After his discharge, Gedeon began studying biomedical engineering at Ben Gurion University. Coding was a semi-professional hobby that he started developing during the Masa program, and so, in the first year of his studies, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, he launched a start-up together with his brother. As a result, he stopped studying to invest all his time and efforts into Riverside. Gideon is the co-founder and CPO of the company that has turned global, and hires hundreds of employees and serves millions of people.

MEET GIDEON:

Tell us about Your Work:

Riverside is a platform for podcast recordings, webinars, and more. Today, it employs 250 people globally, and among its hundreds of thousands of clients, you can find Hillary Clinton, along with very well-known podcasts in Israel and around the world that use its services. Almost everyone who records from home uses our platform.

What is your proudest achievement?

Building a company in Israel and contribute to the economy. Also, the fact that the company is very diverse, we have employees from different nationalities and that makes it a great place to work. Especially today, the fact that we manage to do that is incredible. We manage to do good – we help the end users to share their stories with the world.

How would you describe the impact of your Masa program on your life and professional path?

Masa helped me to come to Israel with very few barriers and focus on what I love to do. I didn’t need to worry about meeting friends for example, that was built in. I was doing something meaningful every day and was focused on personal development and the people around me.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself in Israel, contributing to Israeli society and having a positive impact on people’s lives. I hope to be surrounded by people that I love and of course have a family of my own.

What is your advice for young Jews around the world who want to make a difference?

Really believe in yourself. Look around to see what are the problems that you can fix and what you love to do. Find that perfect match between what you think needs fixing, and what your passion is. Just get the ball rolling to make a real change.
