Aardvark International is part of the Aardvark Israel Gap Year program, but combines travel to eight different countries throughout nine months, allowing students to further cultivate their knowledge of the Jewish Nation’s history in Diaspora, experience different cultures, and meet the local Jewish community.

The Year/Semester Program at the Arava Institute is an accredited university-level program that over the course of one or two semesters will engage you in an interdisciplinary program built of rigorous courses in diverse environmental fields, a peace-building and leadership seminar, independent research (optional), and hands-on and field study components.

ArtJerusalem, a joint initiative of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rothberg International School (RIS), combines artistic training, university study and first-hand exposure to Israel's challenging social, historical and cultural environment.

The Mechina (preparatory) Program at Bar-Ilan University is an intensive year of study aimed at preparing participants for academic life in Israel. Mechina consists of intensive Hebrew language study (approximately 25 hours per week), followed by two academic semesters of 30 hours of intensive Hebrew language study plus Jewish Studies, mathematics or statistics, Israeli geography and government, and introductory level academic courses based on possible career choices.

The semester and year-long programs at Ben Gurion University (BGU) are designed for college students seeking a formative academic period of study in Israel. At BGU, you will study Hebrew language and choose from a variety of English-language courses in Jewish studies, political science, sociology, anthropology, archeology of the Middle East, ecology, the arts, and environmental studies.

The Betar/Wingate program is joint venture between the world renowned Wingate Institute (a global leader in professional fitness & health education), and the Betar movement. This five month program offers a professional physical fitness & health instructor’s course, which combines intense physical training together with class study and across the country trips all over Israel.

This is the first and to date, the only Hebrew language immersion program in Israel, where all course work is conducted entirely in Hebrew. The curriculum is designed for intermediate and advanced students who have completed at least four semesters of Hebrew in their home institution. This is a full Hebrew language immersion program. and students adhere to the Middlebury College Language Pledge

DanceJerusalem, initiated jointly by the Rothberg International School (RIS) and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD), combines artistic training in dance technique and creativity with academic exposure to Israel’s challenging social, historical and cultural environment. 

The Year/Semester Abroad program at the University of Haifa grants you an unparalleled study abroad experience that combines challenging academics with the opportunity to immerse yourself in an Israeli university. International students can choose to attend the program for one semester or for a full academic year and are expected to take three to five courses each semester.

This academic program will enable students on all Hebrew levels to achieve a high degree of fluency in Modern Hebrew through exposure to the language and culture of Israel. 

Since 1955 more than 20,000 international students have attended the Undergraduate Study Abroad Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, earning transferable credits and making lasting connections with classmates and Israeli friends, the city of Jerusalem, and the country itself. Course offerings include Jewish, Israel and Middle Eastern studies, as well as Brain and Behavioral Sciences, and Environmental Studies (4 hours a week, 3 credits each). You can also study literary and colloquial Arabic at various levels.
